Obama or Clinton

I have been watching the race very closely between Obama and Clinton. I will say hands down that Obama is an inspirational speaker. He reminds me of Martin Luther King in his cadence, inflection and hopeful message. I love Martin Luther King and I love the feeling I get when I listen to Obama. I think that is why he is doing so well in the primaries. People "feel" so good after hearing him they vote for him. Clinton is not as dynamic a speaker, she is articulate and specific about what she will do, but she doesn't possess the ability to create that emotional response from her listeners. This hurts her, Americans love to be inspired, they want to get butterflies in thier tummies and jump out of thier seats. Just look at the televangelists that convince millions of Americans to willingly send millions of dollars of hard earned money in the mail to support whatever the pastor/televangelists wants to spend it on (man, what a gift!).

I vote with my head first and then my heart. I am always suspect of my emotional responses and I look deeper to make sure there is substance to my "feelings". Hillary may not be the most dynamic speaker running for president, but she is competent, capable, and confident. I don't know about you but I want someone on the helm that has experienced the roll of the ocean and has charter a safe passage. What I don't want is a zealous well intentioned skipper that runs aground due to a lack of information. ~Miche
